Set default browser in Windows 11

  1. Click Start and type Default apps. Click Open.

    Open Start > Default apps to access default browser settings in Windows 11.
  2. Scroll down the list and select the browser you want to use as your default browser.

  3. Click Set default to make this browser your default for every file and link type. Or, scroll through the options to set a specific default browser for each file and link type separately.

Set default browser in Windows 10


  1. Click Start and type Default apps. Click Open.

  2. Scroll to Web browser and click the browser currently listed. A list of other browser options will appear.

    Scroll to Web browser in Default apps settings, and click the browser currently set as default.
  3. Select a different browser from the list.

Disabling Edge as the default browser for links in Outlook

  1. In Outlook, select File
     
  2. Select Options, located in the bottom left-hand corner
     
  3.  In the options menu, select Advanced. Then, under the File and browser preferences tab, change the Open hyperlinks in Outlook in: option to Default Browser
     
  4. Select OK to apply the change. Hyperlinks opened in Outlook will now open links in the default browser designated in your system settings.
