In Windows 11, Outlook defaults to the New Outlook experience. However, New Outlook is not compatible with dragging and dropping emails into IQMS. Because of this, we recommend using Outlook Classic instead.
Below are the steps to properly set up Outlook Classic on a computer:
1. Do Not Use the “New Outlook” Icon
From the main screen, you may see the New Outlook icon.
We do not want to use this to log into email. Please ignore this option.
2. Open Outlook Classic
Click the Start button and type Outlook in the search bar.
Select the Outlook (classic) application (not New Outlook) from the search results.
3. Log Into Your Email
Enter your nolato.com email address and click Connect.
Follow the prompts to complete the login process.
4. In order to open .eml or .msg files that have been attached, follow the steps below:
Click the Start button, type Default apps, then click on Default apps from the results.
5. In the search box, type .eml, then click Choose a default. Select Outlook, then click the Set default button.
6. In the search box, type .msg, then click Choose a default. Select Outlook, then click the Set default button.
Changing these settings should allow you to use Outlook properly.
